Woman Teacher: RANDOLPH-MACON woman teacher'S COLLEGE, a Methodist-related, fully accredited liberal arts college located on a 100-acre campus in Lynchburg, Va. Founded in 1891 and opened in 1893, it was the first woman teacher's college to be accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the first woman teacher's college south of the Potomac River to be granted a Phi Beta Kappa charter. It confers the bachelor of arts degree. Enrollment averages 825 annually.
