Undergraduate Education In Science: The undergraduate education in science College of Arts and Sciences is for men only, but women are admitted to all the graduate schools .and to the professional undergraduate education in science schools (Architecture, Education, Engineering, Commerce, and Nursing). The university's four-year undergraduate education in science liberal arts college for women is Mary Washington College at Fredericksburg. George Mason College at Fairfax and Clinch Valley College at Wise,
both offering the first two years of undergraduate education in science study, are operated by the University of Virginia.
The College of Arts and Sciences includes courses leading to the degrees of bachelor of arts (in approximately 30 academic fields), bachelor of science in chemistry, and bachelor of science in physics. After two years in the college, students may work toward a bachelor of science in commerce at the Mclntire School of Commerce.
Goucher offers undergraduate education in science courses in the arts and sciences. At the graduate level, the college has a program leading to the master of education degree in elementary education. Men are admitted to work for this degree. Several universities have arranged to coordinate the final year of undergraduate education in science work at Goucher with the first year of graduate study at the university. Enrollment is about 1,000.
Judith Roden qualified as a teacher in 1975 and has studied at the Universities of Wales and Liverpool. Although she is experienced in teaching all age groups, Judith has a particular interest in the early years.
