Two Small Rooms: Assume you wish to determine room availability for a hotel that has a total of 904 rooms. Six rooms are out of service, due to maintenance problems. Last night, 881 rooms were occupied, and 313 rooms are scheduled to be vacated today.
For example, assume that a hotel has 326 rooms. On September 12, six rooms are scheduled to be out of service for painting and refurbishing. Thus, 320 rooms will be in inventory. Let's say that reservations have been received for 224 rooms on that date. The projected occupancy rate is determined as follows.
