Returned Home At Once: French poet and author: b. Charleville, in the Ardennes, Oct. 20, 1854; d. Marseilles, Nov. 10, 1891. He early displayed unusual intellectual gifts and an erratic temperament. Some of his verses written at the age of 15 are included in the collections of his works, and before he was 17 he had run away from home three times, once being returned as a vagabond and twice because of want.
For each custom home design plan, he sends his team of stone and timber experts into the forests of Northern New England to find giant boulders, entire trees or 8-ton Granite stones that become the signature elements of each custom built home.
When asked about the use of such unusual materials in his design Nold said, "When a client wants their weekend, or second home to provide retreat and renewal far from their primary home - this distance is not measured just in miles, but in the emotions their home evokes.
In June 1543, Roberval sailed up the Saguenay, but on his return to Cap Rouge, found ships (without the supplies he had asked for) waiting to take him back to France. He returned home at once. Accounts of his death differ, some authorities maintaining that he perished on a second voyage to Canada, other authorities maintaining that he was killed in France. |
