Qualified Teacher: Judith Roden qualified teacher as a teacher in 1975 and has studied at the Universities of Wales and Liverpool. Although she is experienced in teaching all age groups, Judith has a particular interest in the early years. She is currently the Year 3 Coordinator for the undergraduate initial teacher education programme and Primary Science Team Leader at Canterbury Christ Church University College.
(4) Multiple Grade Grouping. This m of grouping returns to the concept of the ones! room school. Classes are composed of pupils se> lected randomly from two or three different graiie levels. Instruction is based on pupil needs. Classes are structured so that many of the pupils stay with the teacher more than one year. In a class containing fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-graders, the qualified teacher sixth-graders would move to junior high school at the end of the year, but the other pupils, joined by the incoming fourth-graders, would stay with the same teacher the following year.
