The two books bring together tutors whose specialisms cover primary, special and early years education. Apart from the publications by the Goldsmiths' team (for example, Blenkin and Kelly 1992), until recently there have been relatively few books which attempted to provide such an inclusive view of thinking about the education of children aged up to eight years and the three sectors (under-fives, five to 11 and special education) have had more or less separate networks and knowledge/research bases.
International gymnastic teams are composed of six individuals, all of whom must compete in the six events for men or four events for women. In determining the team score the score for the poorest competitor is dropped, and the five best scores are added to give the team score in each event. Thus the maximum event score for a team is 50 points, and the maximum team score is 300 for men and 200 for women. Though the lowest competitor's score is dropped in determining the event score for the team, it is included in obtaining the all-round or total score for that individual. |
