Feeding Bottle Pupae: A large-mouthed quart jar, small bottle, small pail, and a trowel are needed. Dig gently into ant nest; collect a large number of adults, larvae, and pupae; place in quart jar with some soil from nest. Queen is essential; easily recognized by her large size; dig deeply into nest until she is uncovered; place alone in small Bottle for protection during transportation to new nest. Fill small pail with soil from nest.
In a similar though vastly more complex way, man has the potentialities for calm assurance or gnawing anxiety, for love or hate, for feelings of satisfaction and accomplishment or for inferiority and frustration. Any of these may develop, depending largely upon the parental figure who provides the setting for this maturing process (1, 1953). The child's constitution and his total environment, especially his personal relations, are more important for personality development than any single factor such as breast-feeding Bottle pupae or bottle-feeding Bottle pupae.
The larvae and pupae resemble the adults except that the larvae, by means of a terminal fork, carry their cast skins and feces over their body as a parasol. Both larvae and adults largely restrict their feeding Bottle pupae to the leaves of plants in the morning-glory family.
Gold bugs belong to the subfamily Cassidinae of the family Chrysomelidae. A common species, Metriona bicolor, lives on bindweed leaves. Another species feeds on sweet potato leaves. |
