GOSHEN, go'shan, in the Bible, is the land given by the Pharaoh to Jacob and his family in Egypt (Genesis 45:10). It is believed that it was a district between the eastern border of Egypt and the Nile delta. Goshen was also the name of an area occupied by Joshua's forces (Joshua 10:41).
