Continuing The Education: AIA Announces Recipients of continuing the education Education Award for Excellence
The American Institute of Architects (AIA) announced the recipients of the "Award for Excellence in Professional continuing the education Education.'
Cannon Design, from Grand Island, N.Y. was honored in the large firm category, AIA Northern Virginia was honored in the AIA Component Provider category and Rogers Krajnak Architects, Inc., from Columbus, Ohio in the small firm provider category for honorable mention.
Established eight years ago, the annual award recognizes educational providers to architectural and engineering firms and their commitment to an overall system of developing high quality professional continuing the education education programs.
About 70 colleges and universities offer programs to train health education teachers, and the profession is growing. Members of the profession feel strongly that health education should not be considered a part of physical education and that physical education should not be a branch of health education. Some high schools now give a half year to physical education and a half year to health instruction.
The institution started in 1907 as the College of Agricultural and Mechanical Arts, a land-grant college. It became the University of Hawaii in 1920. Because of its location the university has aimed to be a bridge between East and West. In 1960 the federal government created an East-West Center on the main campus to promote cultural and technical interchange among nations.
The university has colleges of arts and sciences, business administration, education, engineering, health sciences and social welfare (including schools of medicine, nursing, public health, and social work), and tropical agriculture (which runs erperiment stations and extensiont services); a division of continuing the education education; and a library school. |
